The November 2016 issue of The Legend features Lonnie Overbeck’s Tyrol Blue, frame-off-restored 1967 GTO hardtop. This beauty is Lonnie’s second GTO; his first was purchased new in July 1967, when he was 21, and recently discharged from the U.S. Navy. He had that GTO for only four years, trading it in for a 1971 LeMans Sport with air conditioning. After a 32-year muscle car hiatus, Lonnie found a restoration-worthy ’67, and contracted with Pontiac specialist Frisco Hills Auto Body for the frame-off. The end result features an 0.030-over 400 motor, Turbohydramatic 400 automatic with the Hurst His ’n Hers shifter, air conditioning, power steering and brakes, electronic ignition, heavy-duty radiator, front disc brakes, and X-pipe exhaust.
Also in the November issue: “We Get By With A Little Help From Our Friends” with Wally Santella; “2004 GTO Carrier Bearing Replacement” with Brian O’Sullivan; “Convention Corner 2017” with Gateway GTO Association President Kerry Friedman; and “Quarter Mile With The Judge” with Frank Fregiato.
All this and more in the November issue of The Legend, the only national automotive magazine devoted exclusively to Pontiac’s Great One!
