The December 2018 issue of The Legend features Tom Pittz’s 1970 Verdoro Green Ram Air III GTO, a restored “hidden gem” that had been placed in a storage facility after 20 years as a daily driver. The original owner had thought about a restoration, but 20 years later, after he had died, his widow found the long-forgotten Goat after she came across a stack of storage facility receipts when she was cleaning out his desk. By that time, the car was a basket case, so she placed it for sale on eBay. Restoration hobbyist Tim Pitz of TC Classics in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, bought it and restored it to its multi-optioned glory. This GTO, one of only 226 built, features a RAM Air III 400, M21 four-speed, 3:90 Safe-T-Track rear, heavy-duty suspension and radiator, AM radio, console, vanity mirror, Rally II wheels with trim rings, and a light saddle interior. It’s a GTOAA Concours Gold winner (2017 GTOAA Nationals). Tim may be looking to sell it in 2019 or 2020, so jot this number down for TC Classics: 608-574-6418.
Also in the December issue: “2019 Convention Corner” with Don Kruse; “Norwalk 2018” with G. Tom Oxler; “What Was I Thinking” with Mark Weidmayer; “Goats on the Block” with Chuck Catalano; and “The Deserving” with Terri Nichols.
All this and more—classified ads, the GTOAA Club Store, etc.—in the December 2018 issue of The Legend, the only national automotive magazine devoted exclusively to Pontiac’s Great One!
