The January 2020 issue of The Legend features Jim Rusch’s 1968 GTO convertible. Jim’s initial search for a GTO “was frustrating, often met with frauds, fakes and phonies,” he says. “Cars were listed as clones, tributes, restored or resto-mods, but many were being brought back from the dead, to ‘almost original condition’ after skirting salvage titles, mechanical butchery, major modifications, and unspeakable abuse that likely included mileage clicked off one quarter-mile at a time.” The New Hampshire-based U.S. Air Force veteran eventually found this mostly original Goat in Colorado, and brought it home after acquiring it from “an honorable gentleman whose word means everything.” Today, it “runs like a dream, and is almost a daily driver—weather permitting.”
Also in the January issue: “Convention Corner” with Janice Duryea, “Two Men and a Goat” with Bob Krewson, Ken Menge and Tom Jackson, and “Goat Herd at Mecum” with Chris DeLambo.
