The June 2020 issue of The Legend features Billy McCall’s Spice Red Metallic on black 2006 GTO, a pristine, low-mileage example of the third and final year “New-Gen” GTO—the car that caused such controversy when Pontiac resurrected the hallowed model after a 30-year absence. Billy, a very young (22) man fom Scipio, Indiana, wanted “a real muscle car with a V-8” and “something different than everyone else,” unlike “dime-a-dozen Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers.” Billy’s GTO, equipped with the 4L65E automatic, is bone-stock, except for aftermarket halo headlamps. It’s one of only 369 produced in 2006 in that color/interior/transmission combination.
Also in the June issue: “The Humbler” with Paul Lesicza; “Kirban’s Corner” with Dennis Kirban; “Little GTOs” with Tim Sickle; “Quarter-Mile With The Judge” with Frank Fregiato; and “2019 Eastern Regionals” with Brian Little. All this and more—classified ads, the GTOAA Club Store, etc.—in the June 2020 issue of The Legend, the only national automotive magazine devoted exclusively to Pontiac’s Great One!
