The April 2015 issue of The Legend features Don Kokemueller’s 1964 GTO hardtop, a frame-off restoration that, except for “a couple of minor touches, like a new radio and wheel well trim,” is a pristine example of America’s original factory muscle car. Outfitted with Tri-Power, a Muncie four-speed, hot Comp cam, Cragar SS wheels and Hedman ceramic-coated headers feeding a 2.25-inch exhaust and Cherry Bomb mufflers, Don’s Goat is a head-turner as well as a bit of an ear-splitter. Back in the day, he owned a ’64 GTO convertible, so this one is his “Second Time Around”—and it’s better than the first time!
Also in the April issue: “Convention Corner 2015” with Bill Sanders, representing the Indy GTO Association, which with Pontiacs of Southeastern Indiana is co-hosting the 2015 GTOAA Nationals in Columbus, Indiana; “Concours Modified Program Update,” with Bill Markowski; “Another Great Day in the Land of Enchantment,” with Chris Carrejo; “Outlaw Run Beyond the Book Series, Part 10,” with Jim Weicherdling; “Goats on the Block,” with Chuck Catalano; and “The Original Muncie Three-Speed Transmission,” with Steve Schaeffer.
All this and more—and the new GTOAA Club Store, now operated by Custom Auto Apparel—in the April 2015 issue of The Legend, the only national automotive magazine devoted exclusively to Pontiac’s Great One!
