Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the GTO Association of America! The December issue of our award-winning monthly magazine features Gordon Hollier’s original-owner Silvermist Gray 1964 Sport Coupe, purchased new in 1964. Back in the day, Gordon outfitted his “Baby,” as he calls his beloved GTO, with a Pontiac Bobcat kit and many aftermarket performance parts. In 2000, with the help of his son Dean, Gordon embarked on a frame-off restoration that included several performance and safety upgrades—front disc brakes, Hotchkiss front and rear suspension components, and a low-restriction 2.5-inch exhaust system, among others. “I want to thank Pontiac for creating the Legend,” Gordon says. “It has filled my life with many everlasting memories. Thank you Pontiac for a ‘Great Ride.’”
Also in the December issue: “Convention Corner 2016,” describing the many attractions of Bellevue, Washington, site of the 2016 GTOAA Nationals, hosted by the Northwest GTO Legends; The Legend Editor Tom Szymczyk’s review of “Blood, Sweat & Gears: The Story of the Gray Ghost and the Junkyard Firebird,” by David G. Barnes; “New Products from GTOG8TA.com” (maxperformanceinc.com) for new-gen GTOs, G8s and Firebird/Trans-Ams; “Rochester 2-Barrel Carburetors,” with Steve Schaeffer, A.S.E.
