The March 2016 issue of The Legend features Lee Deshler’s Barrier Blue, four-speed, Tri-power 1966 convertible. Lee, a member of the GTO Association of Pennsylvania, found his dream Goat in Long Island in 2012, and it needed a tremendous amount of work. With the help of a club member who is also a master mechanic, Lee performed frame-on restoration that included a full rebuild. Buzzy’s Auto Body in Slatington, Pa., did the necessary bodywork applied the Barrier Blue paint. Laudenslager’s Upholstery in Orefield, Pa., redid the interior in Parchment. A new white convertible top and “dog dish” Pontiac hubcaps with redline tires sets this ’66 apart. Today, she looks exactly as she left the Pontiac assembly plant in Pontiac, Mich., bound for Seltzer Pontiac in Chicago.
