The October 2015 issue of The Legend features Dean Medberry’s 1968 GTO hardtop, which his dad, Stan Medberry (1941-2006) purchased new in 1967 from Godfrey Pontiac in Mercer, Pa. The car was special-ordered in a two-tone paint scheme: Meridian Turquoise body, Starlight Black roof. It’s equipped with a 400 HO engine, four-speed, Rally One wheels on redline tires, hidden headlamps and a wood steering wheel. Through the years, “The Family Car,” as it’s known, has undergone various modifications, but today, it’s pretty much as-built. The base coat/clear coat lacquer paint is 33 years old and still shows very well. “As far as I’m concerned, this car will never leave our family,” Dean says. “Ever since I was a little boy, all I have ever wanted to do is talk about and work on the GTO.”
Also in the September issue: “Convention Corner 2016” with Ted Knapp, Northwest GTO Legends; “Independence Fund Update,” with Denny Deal; “Spice is Nice,” with Bill Vantuono; “Outlaw Run, Beyond the Book Series, Part 12” with Jim Weicherding; “Wheeler Dealers TV Show Comes to America,” with Nancy Person; and “1964 GTO Tail Lights,” with Roger Lachele.
All this and more—and the GTOAA Club Store, now operated by Custom Auto Apparel—in the October 2015 issue of The Legend, the only national automotive magazine devoted exclusively to Pontiac’s Great One!
