Jerry Ravencraft’s 1967 GTO hardtop, featured on the May 2019 issue cover, is a real plum—literally. The fully restored and upgraded, automatic-equipped, heavily optioned Pontiac “is a true Plum Mist car with black interior,” Jerry notes. “This color is rare (one year only) and many have never seen it. PHS cannot tell me how many were produced as that info has been lost over the years. They do acknowledge it is very rare. I have been told as few as 49 (I like this figure!) to perhaps a few hundred. It generates many questions (and doubts). Paint code M tells the story, and it seems to be much more popular now than in 1967.”
Also in the May issue: “Convention Corner” with Don Kruse; “Concours Update” with Bill Markowski; “Popular Vote FAQs” with Bob Alexander
and Tom Szymczyk; “Yorktown Blues” with Jeff Lovich; “Street Legends Cruise” with G. Tom Oxler; and “Little GTOs” with Tim Sickle
All this and more—classified ads, the GTOAA Club Store, etc.—in the May 2019 issue of The Legend, the only national automotive magazine devoted exclusively to Pontiac’s Great One!
